We need to stop the proliferation of weapons around the world. This cause is oppression, the death and misery without end. It's sad, how we used to export products to human kind now that we export are all tools of death and subjection.

Egypt said Arabic identity of a 'line' (AFP) Red Gulf - 2 hours ago

CAIRO - Egypt said Wednesday on the Arab identity of the Gulf States is a "red line" after they were accuse Iran of trying to destabilize the Bahrain, while praising a force led by Saudi repressed pro-democracy protests there.

In a statement, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nabil al-Arabi the Egypt said "stability and the Gulf Arab countries Arabhood is a red line against which the Egypt rejects any intrusion".

The statement was in response to a ministerial meeting of the Gulf Monday that accused the Iran interfere in Bahrain and Kuwait, to destabilize the region.

Bahrain events have been directed by marginalized Shi'a majority of the country, which prompted the Gulf States to accuse the Shiite Iran of orchestrating the protests in the Sunni country.

The Government said 24 people, including four policemen were killed in the crackdown, which, according to the Organization of the United Nations, saw the arbitrary arrests and killings and seizure of medical facilities.

Bahraini police have been reinforced with more than 1,000 soldiers in armoured vehicles to Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf States, but foreign forces have kept a low profile.

Arabi said that the countries of the Gulf "succeeded in moving in a manner coordinated to preserve the safety of the Bahrain." giving practical application to the concept of collective security in the Gulf region

The Minister, himself appointed to his position by a pro-democracy movement that toppled the former regime in February, also "welcomes the outcome of the last ministerial meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council".

Egypt itself has had no official diplomatic relations with the Iran for decades, but said Arabi earlier this week that his country wants to improve ties with the Islamic Republic.
